October 11th – Intro to politics- Online
Have you ever wondered what the difference is between the Dáil and the Seanad? Or how your local council is run and what the role of a local Councillor or TD involves? This session will demystify Irish political systems and structures so you can be informed and up-to-date if you choose to run for election yourself or to work on a campaign.
November 9th – Women Belong – In your chamber
Women Belong provides women with encouragement, support and tools to take the next step and run for election. In a safe and encouraging space, hear how to push past the fear and doubts you may have about getting involved in politics, as you share concerns, get expert advice, and the tools to take that next step towards your political career.
November 15th “What are you saying” messaging workshop – online
Why are you running for election? Why should I vote for you? What will you do for this community? This module gives invaluable advice on how to answer these questions and more. This practical workshop helps you to fine-tune your messaging, and prepares you to be authentic and relevant in interviews, at meetings, and on the doorsteps as you clearly and confidently let people know why it is that they should give you their No.1.
November 23rd Campaigning design and rollout training – In your chamber
What makes a good election campaign? Get expert advice on this module which examines the anatomy of a political campaign and how to prepare one. This Canvassing Clinic will give top tips on preparing for and organising canvassing, capturing and using canvassing data, picking up and following up on issues and queries, and how to sustain yourself – it’s a marathon, not a sprint!
November 29th Supporting Women’s campaigns canvassing workshop – online
Ireland sits at number 101 in the global ranking of female parliamentarians, and we can all have a role in changing this. Recognising that some women will want to learn from being part of an election campaign if they are deciding to run for office themselves, and others would prefer to be involved behind the scenes, this module will equip women to take on leadership roles in a campaign e.g.Director of Elections, Campaign Manager, Canvassing Lead, Volunteer Manager.
