#SE25: Outcomes for Women in 2025 Seanad Elections
The 2025 Seanad Elections have returned the largest number of women Senators across the 7 Vocational and University Panels. 20 women were elected Senators, an increase of 43% from the 14 elected in SE2020.
The Taoiseach nominated a further 7 women out of 11 nominations. Women now make up 45% of the 60 seats in Seanad Éireann.
